We had a wonderfully successful Day of Service thanks to all you wonderful parents.
Krista organized a project for Portland Rescue Mission. Students put together care bags with essentials: socks, toothbrushes, floss, etc.
Chris, and Tracy organized "Busy Bags" for sick children at Doernbecher's Children's Hospital.
Katherine led a dog biscuit making party for homeless dogs.
Rebecca organized a donation center for a women's shelter.
Olga and Mark organized a pop up card project. Students made very sweet Get Well cards to children with cancer.
Dana led the whole class through a letter writing project in which students wrote letters to service men and women.
Wow! That is quite a days work! The kids felt great and had a lot of fun.
Again thank you all for your help and support. Here are some photos from the activities.
Your class did so well, Bradi. They wrote amazing letters. Parents--your kids really know how to express themselves! I couldn't wait to send the letters off--and am really curious to see if anyone gets a response. Keep your fingers crossed!
ReplyDeleteBradi--did you get the picture I emailed you of the letters spread out?
